Thank you very much for taking valuable time from your very busy schedule to read "The Child's Voice" which is the Child Aid Foundation's newsletter. | | Volunteers Working in C.A.F. Center | There is a growing number of students volunteering to work in the Child Aid Foundation center during their summer vacation holidays. Recently Ananya Mandava and Asha Priya Atluri worked as "C.A.F. Volunteers" for a few weeks. Presently, Monica Bodd is working as a volunteer. Child Aid Foundation sincerely thanks all its volunteers for their services. | | | | Outdoor Tiling for Child Aid Foundation Center Paths | Mr. J. Satynarayana of Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh has donated the outdoor tiles for resurfacing the west side campus paths in the Child Aid Foundation center. The paths not only look very attractive, but are much easier to maintain and keep clean. We sincerely thank Mr. Satyanarayana for his very kind and generous donation. The east sides paths of the center still need resurfacing. Interested donors are requested to contact Child Aid Foundation by phone or email. Thank you. | | | | C.A.F.'s School Top Scorer Achieves 555 Marks on S.S.C. Public Exam! | Child Aid Foundation's own "Shri Vijaya Bharati High School" is improving its S.S.C. Public Exam results ever year! This year our 10th standard student Sai Dharanesh achieved 555 marks on the exam. Sai Dharanesh will now be admitted into a Junior Intermediate course. Child Aid Foundation will continue to sponsor his education to as high a level as he desires and is capable of achieving. We congratulate Sai Dharanesh and wish him all the very best success in his academic career! | | | | Child Aid Foundation’s Seventeenth Anniversary | On June 1st, 2010, Child Aid Foundation celebrated the 17th anniversary of its founding! The event was marked by a very nice function in C.A.F.’s center attended by all of the children, trustees, staff, chief guests, prominent guests, and members of the public. The event was also given very good coverage by the local media. Child Aid Foundation was founded on the same day as "International Children's Day"! With you very kind support, Child Aid Foundation will celebrate many more of such anniversaries! | | | | The 'Citi Group' Selects Child Aid Foundation as its 'Community Day' Organization | The "Citi Group" (Citi Bank, Citi Financial, etc.) selected Child Aid Foundation for conducting its "Community Day" program on August 9th. Several activities for the benefit of the children in Child Aid Foundation were conducted by the "Citi Group" that day. These activities included the renovation of the children's kitchen, and a sponsored meal for all the school and hostel children. The event received extensive coverage by both the electronic and print media. Child Aid Foundation sincerely thanks the Citi Group for the selection. | | | | Television Channel Feautures Child Aid Foundation! | The very popular Indian TV channel "NTV" aired a special program about Child Aid Foundation. After the program, Child Aid Foundation received a very large number of congratulatory emails and phone calls. Many of the emails and calls also expressed the intent to support Child Aid Foundation and its projects. C.A.F. sincerely thanks "NTV" for the coverage and publicity, and all those who wrote and called for their encouragement and offers of support! | | | | American Mural Artist Does Project in C.A.F. Center! | The very famous, American mural artist, Ms. Augustina Droze, visited the Child Aid Foundation center on a exculsive, 9-day, murals painting project. During her visit, she received very good media coverage in various newspapers, television channels, and radio stations. Many of the resident and non-resident boys and girls under C.A.F.'s care assisted her in her works. For more information about Augustina Droze, please visit her website at: www.admuralstudio.com. | | | | 'Live For Children' Selects Child Aid Foundation | The Europe based "LiveForChildren" (www.liveforchildren.org) organization has selected the Child Aid Foundation as a "Partner Organization", and will be supporting Child Aid Foundation's center, projects, and activities. We sincerely thank "LiveForChildren" for their trust in and support to our organization. | | | | Child Aid Foundation is now an 'Asha For Education' Project | The very prestigious and international, New York City, U.S.A. based "Asha for Education" (www.ashanet.org) has formally adopted Child Aid Foundation as one of their supported projects. One June 3rd, Asha senior office bearer Sandeep Kulkarni officially notified Child Aid Foundation about the decision as well as that a substantial grant is being sent to Child Aid Foundation immediately.
The trustees, staff, and children express their sincere gratitude to "Asha For Education" for their very philanthropic assistance and support. C.A.F. looks forward to a long and mutally rewarding relationship with Asha. | | | | S.S.C. (Tenth Standard) Graduates Enter College | Child Aid Foundation's 10th class graduates have been admitted into various colleges (Intermediate) throughout the city.
The Narayana Group and Sri Chaitanya Group of Colleges has very kindly and generously donated free admissions into their Junior Intermediate Colleges for these S.S.C. graduates. Child Aid Foundation sincerely thanks the Narayana Group and Sri Chaitanya Group of Colleges managements for their very philanthropic gesture.
Child Aid Foundation sincerely wishes the S.S.C. graduates all of the very best in the rest of their academic careers. | | | | Charities Aid Foundation selects Child Aid Foundation as a 'Charity Partner'! | In a continuing series of various organizations recognizing Child Aid Foundation and its social work, the very prestigious, international, Charities Aid Foundation (www.cafonline.org) has validated Child Aid Foundation as a very genuine, reputable, and credible charitable organization. In an official letter to Child Aid Foundation, Priya Viswanath - Chief Executive, Charities Aid Foundation writes: "Child Aid Foundation has been found eligible to receive validation status as a Charities Aid Foundation validated charity." Child Aid Foundation is now an official "Charity Partner" of Charities Aid Foundation.

We look forward to a mutually rewarding interaction and experience. | | | | Many N.R.I.s Visiting Child Aid Foundation | Since Child Aid Foundation became an official "Supported Project" of the T.A.N.A. Individuals, groups of individuals, and families are visiting C.A.F. regularly both in their personal and formal capacity as their Associations' office bearers.

Thank you very much! | | | | New Donors and Sponsors | Many of the Child Aid Foundation "Members" (those who donate on a regular basis) started out as first-time and/or one-time donors and/or sponsors. After personally observing and interacting with Child Aid Foundation, they were both very satisfied and impressed with the Child Aid Foundation organization, center, projects, and activities. We sincerely thank Indian NGOs very much for the honor. | | | | Child Aid Foundation celebrates 'Independence Day'! | August 15th, India "Independence Day", is a very important day for all Indians including the children and staff of C.A.F.!
On that morning at 9 o'clock, the Indian national flag was hoisted, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and other patriotic songs.
The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. M. Rajesh. Dr. Rajesh hoisted the national flag and spoke to the children about the importance of the day.
Finally, food was served, and sweets and fruits were distributed to all of the children. Child Aid Foundation sincerely thanks Dr. M. Rajesh, as well as students, teachers, staff, guests, and visitors for making the program a grand success! | | | | School Uniform Dress Code Implemented | The teachers and children of C.A.F.'s own "Shri Vijaya Bharati High School" have always wanted to implement a school uniform dress code in our school. Doing so, however, was very difficult for most of the children due to their critical financial situations.
Child Aid Foundation launched a special appeal for school uniform sponsors and the response was very good! Many of the school children now own at least one school uniform. Consequently, the discipline and morale in the school has improved a lot!
There are still many children, however, that do not have even one uniform and the remainder require at least one more uniform set. If you are interested in sponsoring a child's, or several children's, school uniform(s), please contact us right away. Thank you very much. | | | | Child Aid Foundation's 'Shri Vijaya Bharati High School' Annual Day! | A part of the "C.A.F. Education Project" is our own "Shri Vijaya Bharati High School". There are about 350 children, boys and girls, presently enrolled in the school from the 1st to the 10th standard. This year, the school celebrated its "Annual Day"! All the children and teachers had been very busy, enthusiastically practicing for the many various programs that were presented to the guests and public on that day. The programs started punctually at 6:00 p.m. and lasted until 10 p.m.!
The Chief Guests at the function were Mr. D. Pitchayya, a senior and prominent advocate, and Mr. J. Radhakrishna, a senior and prominent educationalist and author. Both guests spoke very highly of Child Aid Foundation and congratulated the children and teachers on the success of the "Annual Day" funcation.
The function was a grand success! Everyone that attended the event stated that it was very well planned, organised, managed, and presented. Our C.A.F. center was literally packed with many guests, parents, chidren, and visitors! The print media was also invited and covered the event very nicely with articles including photos.
Our school's "Annual Day" is a yearly event and we plan to make it even better for the 2008-2009 academic year!
| | | | Microsoft Support to Child Aid Foundation | The Microsoft (India) employees and Microsoft (India) have made their annual donations and grant to Child Aid Foundation. This support to C.A.F. has become a yearly event at Microsoft. As the donated amounts are substantial, it enables Child Aid to improve both the quality as well as quantity of our aid and care to undereprivileged children. All the trustees, staff, and especially children sincerely thank the Microsoft employees, and Microsoft company, very much. | | | | Apex Foundation Work Group, U.S.A. visits C.A.F. Center! | It was a very busy and even hectic three days in the Child Aid Foundation center when Mr. John Kuranz and his Apex Foundation Work Group of about twenty foreign and Indian volunteers worked with great enthusiasm to complete the repainting of the entire C.A.F. center, the entire cost of which was sponsored by the A.F.W.G.
The Group arrived by plane at the Vijayawada airport, checked into their hotel, and started the project early next morning. They worked very hard from early morning until evening stopping only briefly for lunch, which was arranged for them in the C.A.F. center.
On the first day, they were assisted by all of the C.A.F. staff members as well as older children. On the second day and third days, the Group was assisted by C.A.F. staff, trustees, and volunteers from the local area.
Both the electronic and print media covered the event very well. As soon as the public saw the news on the "Siti Channel" TV channel, the C.A.F. office was flooded with congratulatory phone calls as well as offers to volunteer for the ongoing work!

Foundation Partners with Child Aid Foundation | Child Aid Foundation has been invited, and has gratefully accepted, to become an official "Supported Project" of the Telugu Association of North America (T.A.N.A.) Foundation. It is a pleasure, privilege, and honor for C.A.F. to be selected as a partner N.G.O. by such a large and prestigious organization as T.A.N.A.

This year, the Credibility Alliance "State Level Meeting" for Andhra Pradesh based N.G.O.s was held in Hyderabad. Child Aid Foundation was one of the prominent participants in the meeting. | | | | C.A.F. Center, Automated Schedule Timing System | Child Aid Foundation wishes to thank Mr. B. Srinivas Rao of Hyderabad for donating the system for our center. Since the installation of the system, both the hostel and school divisions schedule and timings have been running very punctually. During the day, twenty-four audible sound reminders are automatically activated by the system at various pre-set times. Thanks to Srinivas Rao and the system, our C.A.F. center is running like clockwork! | | | | GIVE Foundation's Top Recipients | The very famous and prestigious GIVE Foundation lists and promotes over 100 partner N.G.O.s on its website. GIVE Foundation receives and accepts donations from many public and private sources on behalf of these partner organisations. Every month, in its monthly newsletter, GIVE Foundation publishes the top five recipient organisations for the previous month. Last month, Child Aid Foundation achieved the first position in the top five! This means that an ever-increasing number of donors and sponsors, from throughout India and the world, are actively selecting C.A.F. as the preferred organisation to donate to. The reason is that they have very thoroughly inquired and determined that Child Aid Foundation is a truly genuine, reputable, credible, and transparently managed social service organisation. Thank you very much. | | | | Svagriha Girls Division Project | The Child Aid Foundation's "Svagriha Girls Division" project is slowly, but very surely, developing! We are gradually enrolling an ever-increasing number of girls into this non-residential division. Please contact us if you would like to sponsor a girl child specifically. | | | | C.A.F. Education Project | There are presently over 400 children, boys and girls, of various ages and academic levels in this project. Many of the children are attending our own "Shri Vijaya Bharati High School" wherein they receive free: transportation to and from school, education, textbooks, notebooks, school supplies, midday lunch, school uniforms, clothing, and medical care up to the 10th standard.
The children above tenth class have been admitted by us into various high schools, intermediates, polytechnics, I.T.I.s, and colleges throughout the city. | | | | Ashraya Children's Home Project | There are about 50 children presently enrolled in this project. They are provided with comprehensive aid and care on a full-time, residential basis. Such aid and care includes food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, vocational training, and job placement.
